Basic styles of carpet

A carpet is a textile floor covering, traditionally made from wool but now it is also available in synthetic fibers such as polypropylene, nylon, or polyester, as these fibers are economical than wool. The fabric used in making has a variety of colors as the fabric can be dyed to make a new combination of shades and styles. These days’ carpets are made of many different types of patterns and designs using unique motifs that complement the interior beautifully and add an elegance to the space decorated with it. They look beautiful when they are spread on the floor perfectly fitting.

Carpets are the trendy flooring option for homes because they’re warm and soft. To keep the carpet in a good condition one must professional cleaning of it. Carpet as a flooring material has an amazing feature and that is its ability to give a warm, cushiony surface underfoot.

When you select a carpet for your home, you have many things to consider and many different options. There is a range of quality present in carpets and its quality is determined by a variety of factors including the weight, fiber type, fiber construction, and density.

The process of carpet formation involves looping the fiber yarn through the backing material.

When we discuss the style of carpets we come across the few basic styles in trend are cut pile, cut-loop pile and loop pile.

Cut pile is suitable for high traffic areas due to its resilient shape. Cut pile carpet consists of yarns that are cut at the ends. The soft feel of cut pile carpet makes it attractive and a perfect choice for everyone, for the most comfortable areas of your home – bedrooms, living rooms, and family rooms. Basic styles of cut pile carpet are commonly five: Frieze, Velvet, Shag, Saxony, and Cable, each provides a different look and texture. The prime dissimilarity among these styles is the number of twists in the yarns that will ultimately influence the carpet’s durability.

Plush (Velvet) are Dense and luxurious. Good for a less crowded place or formal settings.

Textured plush is versatile because of its florid feature. Most recommended style for busy households.  A great “whole-house” carpet.

Saxony is Present as a refined surface that is well-suited to living and dining rooms.

Frieze has a “curly” textured surface because of its yarns that are extremely twisted. Good choice for high traffic areas.

Shag is Popular for retro applications, shag is a sub-type of frieze, with a very tall pile height.

A cable having similarities to a frieze, but some fibers are thick and some are thin, for a varied appearance.

Loop carpet has strength and soil hiding capabilities. This style is perfect for heavy traffic areas. Berber is one of the most popular styles of loop carpet that can be formed as a level-loop or multi-loop carpet.

Another basic style of carpet is cut-loop carpet, cut loop carpet have high cut tufts and lower loops. Cut-loop carpets offer spectacular achievement but are not long-lasting as loop carpets.
