A carpet is a textile floor covering, traditionally made from wool but now it is also available in synthetic fibers such as polypropylene, nylon, or polyester, as these fibers are economical than wool. The fabric used in making has a variety of colors as the fabric can be dyed to make a new combination of shades and styles. Basic styles of cut pile carpet are commonly five: Frieze, Velvet, Shag, Saxony, and Cable, each provides a different look and texture. The prime dissimilarity among these styles is the number of twists in the yarns that will ultimately influence the carpet’s durability.

Plush (Velvet) are Dense and luxurious. Good for a less crowded place or formal settings.

Textured plush is versatile because of its florid feature. Most recommended style for busy households.  A great “whole-house” carpet.

Saxony is Present as a refined surface that is well-suited to living and dining rooms.

Frieze has a “curly” textured surface because of its yarns that are extremely twisted. Good choice for high traffic areas.

Shag is Popular for retro applications, shag is a sub-type of frieze, with a very tall pile height.

A cable having similarities to a frieze, but some fibers are thick and some are thin, for a varied appearance.

Loop carpet has strength and soil hiding capabilities. This style is perfect for heavy traffic areas. Berber is one of the most popular styles of loop carpet that can be formed as a level-loop or multi-loop carpet.

Another basic style of carpet is cut-loop carpet, cut loop carpet have high cut tufts and lower loops. Cut-loop carpets offer spectacular achievement but are not long-lasting as loop carpets.
